How did you first discover whisky?
The odd whisky Johnnie Walker & Coke before I picked up a bargain bottle of Laphroaig 10 at the Auckland Airport 24 years ago. The peat smell had me hooked – and that still hasn’t changed all these years later. However, I have developed a fondness for unpeated malts too…
What attracted you to the Certificate in Scotch Whisky?
I was looking at expanding my theoretical whisky knowledge and came across the EWA’s offerings online. The Certificate in Scotch Whisky looked like an ideal way to study from the comfort of my home during Covid-19 and to suss out EWA… I have since signed up for one of their in-person Diplomas… very much looking forward to that.
What aspects of the course did you find most enjoyable?
The convenience of progressing through the well-structured online material at my own pace and the wee quizzes at the end for the ‘heads-up’!
How have you used your new-found knowledge since you completed the course?
So far, this has really been for my own benefit. Great to know a little bit more…
