A Fresh Chapter for Our Certificate in Gin

When we first launched the Certificate in Gin in late 2019, our aim was simple: to bring the same clarity, structure and academic credibility to gin education that we had already established in whisky.

Since then, the course has remained one of our most popular programmes. It has been delivered not only online, but also in person through our global network of Approved Course Providers, with classes taught in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Turkey, Puerto Rico and the UAE. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see such enthusiasm for structured gin education around the world.

Now, we're delighted to share that we have refreshed the online course to bring it fully in line with our other Certificate programmes in Scotch, Irish Whiskey and American Single Malt.

The most exciting development is the introduction of new video explainer lessons featuring the highly respected gin expert Geraldine Coates. We were fortunate to film these updates on location at Caorunn Gin, Edinburgh Gin, Pickering’s Gin and Lind & Lime distilleries, giving students an authentic behind-the-scenes view of how gin is made. Geraldine’s guidance, combined with these real-world locations, adds depth and personality to the course, bringing gin history, production methods, botanicals, styles and flavour development vividly to life.

We have also introduced a curated 6 x 30ml gin sample pack (available only in the UK, EU and USA). One of the most important aspects of spirits education is developing sensory confidence and these packs allow you to taste representative styles alongside the course material, wherever you are in the world.

For us, this refresh is about more than new content. It’s about continuing to raise the standard of spirits education; making it accessible, structured and globally relevant.
