Edinburgh Whisky Academy Partners with Bartender Magazine to Champion Hospitality Education

We're delighted to announce a new partnership with Bartender Magazine, one of the leading trade publications in the United States for bartenders and the wider drinks industry.

The collaboration begins with our upcoming US Diploma courses in New York City and Louisville. Bartender Magazine will sponsor a place for bartenders to attend each course, helping two talented hospitality professionals access advanced whisky education and gain an internationally recognised qualification.

Every student attending our US Diploma courses this autumn will also receive a complimentary copy of The Bartender Magazine, followed by a free subscription after the course, helping them stay connected with the latest news, trends and insights from across the global bar industry.

After the courses, we'll also be celebrating the partnership by sharing the stories of our sponsored bartenders, highlighting how education can support career development and inspire the next generation of whisky professionals.

A Shared Vision

Speaking about the partnership, Kirsty McKerrow, Founder & Managing Director of Edinburgh Whisky Academy, said: "We're passionate about making world-class drinks education more accessible for hospitality professionals, so this collaboration is a natural fit on so many levels. Together with Bartender Magazine we hope to create more opportunities to support bartenders throughout their careers; to develop their knowledge, broaden their skills and ultimately strengthen our industry. Special thanks to Marty Duffy for introducing us to Ryan and helping bring this partnership together."

Ryan Foley, Owner & Publisher of Bartender Magazine, added: "Our mission has always been to help bartenders grow, connect and succeed. Partnering with EWA allows us to support exceptional educational opportunities while investing directly in the people who make our industry so special. We're excited to see where this collaboration takes us and look forward to building something meaningful together."

Looking Ahead

While the partnership initially centres around our 2026 US Diploma programme, this is only the beginning. Over the coming months we'll be exploring additional ways to work together, from subscriber benefits and educational content to events and initiatives that support bartenders at every stage of their careers.
