From Istanbul to Chicago: EWA’s Global Whisky Courses in May 2026
Apr 30, 2026
Our global programme of in-person courses continues in May, with Approved Course Providers delivering expert-led whisky education across Europe, the United States and beyond. Following a strong April, this month’s schedule features a diverse mix of Certificate-level courses alongside Edinburgh-based Diploma and Sensory training.
Our May courses across Europe include:
Istanbul, Türkiye: Certificate in Scotch Whisky (May 5–7), Certificate in Gin (May 13–14) & Certificate in Irish Whiskey (May 16).
Yiğit Akdemir (Uzkeba) continues to play a central role in the development of the Approved Course Provider programme. With multiple courses delivered across the month, both online and in person, he remains a driving force for whisky education in Türkiye.
Momentum Across the United States and Beyond
May also sees continued momentum across the United States and further afield, reflecting the expanding global reach of Edinburgh Whisky Academy’s programmes:
- In Puerto Rico: Miguel Santiago (Academia de Whisky) delivers the Certificate in Scotch Whisky (May 1–2), bringing structured whisky education to an engaged and growing audience in the Caribbean.
- In Chicago: Gina Fossitt (True Grist x Dandelion BevEd) hosts the Certificate in American Single Malt Whiskey (May 18–20), continuing her work developing whisky education within the US drinks community.
Together, these courses demonstrate the global appetite for whisky education and the calibre of our Educators, who bring expertise, energy and local insight to every classroom.

Edinburgh Whisky Academy Courses
Edinburgh, UK: Diploma in Single Malt Whisky (May 7–8) & Certificate in Sensory Appreciation (May 9).
Led by Vic Cameron, these courses offer students the opportunity to learn directly from the Academy, combining advanced technical knowledge with hands-on sensory training in the home of Scotch whisky.
