More than a new partnership

While this is a new offer for our US students, our relationship with the wider The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) goes back many years.

We’ve long admired the Society’s approach: inquisitive from the outset and always encouraging people to explore whisky with curiosity and an open mind. It’s a philosophy that closely aligns with our own.

As our Founder & Managing Director Kirsty McKerrow explains: “We’ve always felt a strong affinity with the SMWS. They’ve inspired generations of curious whisky drinkers to explore flavour without preconceptions, which is exactly what we aim to do through our courses. This partnership feels like a natural extension of our shared mindset.”

We have collaborated with a number of different SMWS teams over the years. Since 2019, SMWS staff have had access to a bespoke portal on our learning platform. We worked together on a custom Focus on Flavour module in 2024 which is available for both SMWS members and non-members. We’ve also hosted courses and filmed various content in their Queen Street and the Vaults venues.
